Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I need a new roof?
Most composition roofing shingles typically have a 15 to 30 year lifespan depending on the shingle quality, climate and tree coverage surrounding the roof. Direct sunlight, weather and poor ventilation are several variables that can cause the roof to fail prematurely before the above-mentioned lifespan.
Warning signs that you may need to have your roof inspected:
- Curling shingles.
- Loss of asphalt granulation. (Pay special attention to the gutter downspout areas.)
- Missing shingles.
- Broken shingles.
- Rusted or missing flashing.
- Evidence of leaking on your ceilings.
If a residential roof is over 15 years old, we recommend you call us for a free roof inspection. Damage to a roof is very difficult to see from the ground level. To determine damage, if any, someone will need to get on your roof to do a thorough inspection.
If I see any warning signs, does that always mean I need a new roof?
Composition shingles are very repairable as long as they are still pliable. The age and condition of the roof will determine if the roof is repairable or if it will require a replacement.
